Strategic Personal Plan

1. Maschmedt and Associates. They are a sales rep firm that carries several different lines of fishing, hunting, and outdoor gear. They sell to retailers across the western US.

2. The areas of social media which are the best match for my client is Facebook, and LinkedIn. We are using Facebook because a lot of our clients have them. They also use it as a tool to communicate with their customers. By communicating with their customers directly (aka posting on their Facebook wall) we are doing advertising for that store, which means increased sales of products we are supplying them with. We are using LinkedIn because many of the buyers for the customers have personal LinkedIn accounts, and use them for business purposes. However, I know that I cannot create a LinkedIn account because the domain name for the company is already being used for a separate company they operate, so instead we will be using a LinkedIn group to communicate with people that way.

3. Our word of mouth marketing plan includes using our sales reps, and our customers we have great relationships with. Our customer base is unique because potentially all of our customers are each others competitors. By using Google alerts, and making sure our sales reps are highlighting this to our customers we can begin to use Social Media to get a word of mouth campaign started.

4. Mobile would be great if it would allow us to check inventory of a product for a specific factory immediately. For example, if a rep goes into a hunting store and they want to order some ammunition, but need it within the next month, the rep would be able to check on his phone whether or not there is a backorder, and how much stock is currently available. In this aspect Mobile marketing is being indirectly used for our customer, but other than the previously mentioned use, it would be hard for mobile marketing to be effective in our business.

5. Yes it does, and they already do. They currently do a lot with Ducks Unlimited which is the worlds leader in wetlands preservation and restoration. They are a non-profit that focus on saving ducks, and educating the public, and future hunters about the importance of wetlands. This makes sense because Ducks Unlimited is an international organization that rivals the size and scope of the NRA without the stigma attached.

6. The ethical standards important to my client are to ensure that we do not put too much information about our clients, the prices they are getting, or information we are privileged to on the internet. In addition, when people follow us on twitter, or like our Facebook page, I send them a message letting them know who is doing the internet marketing.
