Online Consumer Behavior

According to the E-Marketing, “People do only five basic things online- connect create, enjoy, learn and trade.” In today’s digital age, internet and WiFi become extremely important in people’s life. With the growth of internet users and social media, internet advertising and social media approach become one of the essential elements to most of the business and organizations. The following section is the simple summary of the five basic online elements.

Connect

· Allows consumers to interact with individuals and organizations using multimedia in two-way communication

· It is an inexpensive way to communicate and research information online

Create

· Social networking sites can create profiles, upload pictures and other content and connect with friends and colleagues

· YouTube video , Flicker(digital photos), micro blog can share different ideas such as Doritos Super Bowl Contest to attract consumers and fun advertising

Enjoy

· Two-thirds browse for fun, sometimes on experiential shopping trips, as previously mentioned

· Audio and visual entertainment is one of internet’s big promises

Learn

· Consumers access information to learn things online such news, driving direction, travel information, products information, job, weather, sports scores and etc. over the internet.

Trade

· Most consumers shop, buy or conduct other transaction-oriented activities online

· Online actions are also growing

· An average of a typical internet consumer spends an hour per day shopping and makes 21 online purchase a year

For my client, Experience Shoes should take advantage by using Facebook, YouTube, and picture sharing to connect more consumers. Also, I will recommend my clients using fun and interested event or video to create the buzz. Since their salsa dance shoes and balldance shoes are currently popular, Experience Shoes could post some useful information or tips for how to protect those shoes or post dance events.
