Consumer Behavior: Learning

People want to connect, create, enjoy, learn, and trade within social media outlets and beyond. For my personal project I will be focusing on the connect and learning aspects of consumer behavior. Much value can be added to a business through networking on social media sites. More importantly, the strategy for providing worthwhile information to buyers and sellers through my client will focus on the need of consumers to learn and take in new information.

"... 72 percent of respondents in a Harris Poll said the Internet made them more resourceful and 46 percent said it made them smarter" - E-Marketing by Strauss & Frost

People are craving information and access to information via online sources. Each day this information is more accessible on social media outlets. From a Pew Internet Study with data from 2004-2007, 55% use the Internet to find "how-to" or repair info, 51% use the Internet to watch a virtual tour of a location, 39% use the Internet to find a place to live, and 28% use the Internet to search for info about a person. And surely these numbers have gone up! My plan will focus on these four areas: how-to, tours, finding a place to live, and data on client.
