U.S. Digital Media Trend & The Tipping Point

Social Networking Trend:

Among all the trends mentioned in the report by comScore, I found social trend is the most interesting one. Why? It is because one of the most powerful and popular tools that belongs to this category like "Facebook" promotes cost-effective advertising that can reach tens of millions of consumers. Beside the advertisements from which thousands of pages that companies creates on Facebook, the largest volume of displayed ads also appear there. Hence, this social networking trend somewhat leads display ads trend since the ability of the said leading website (Facebook) in attracting internet users affect the demand in displayed ads space and therefore, affect the volume of the displayed ads whether it will remain constant over time.

Stickiness Factor:

According to the reading, "The Tipping Point," I've learned that understand how thing happens and changes unexpectedly as they are will make it easier for marketers to achieve their goals. In order to apply this concept to social media, we must, first, be able to identify factors that influence or trigger the situations and resulted in sudden changes. Then we will be able to come up with the right tools to influence consumer behaviors after an analysis of all the factors talked in the Tipping Point such as "connectors" or "surrounding context." Considering in all of those factors contribute to the success in today marketing. However, I feel that "stickiness factor" is more attractive than the others.
The following VDO clip illustrates how marketer grabs public attention, and it also speaks for why stickiness factor is effective:
