Assignment as of 4/14

1) Going back to the days where I was a high school student and had to pick a university, I remember there was plenty of semi-named university's representative that came to our school during a special day that my school has provided. There was booth's held up for university Representative to be able to give us student more information, brochure and we can sign up for their email notification. So, I had to choose D which is creating word of mouth ambassadors to go speak to parents and high school seniors at targeted high schools. This is an excellent opportunities for students, that has not much knowledge or even clue of which university they would want to attend. Like me, I was like a lost puppy. Most of my friends knew where they wanted to go, UCLA, USC, Purdue, MIT, and much more. Our high school had this International Baccalaureate Organization program that made us student a high chance to get into those prominent universities. For some reason, I was not interested to look up any university web page or even go see an agent. However, I remember my bigger brother was there, at one of the booths, representing Seattle University. He had volunteered to do so since he is an alumni that graduate with a perfect GPA. Since I was lost, I just sat at his booth and checked out the brochure, and at that moment on, I knew I will attend Seattle University. The second most effective way to recruit students is probably E) create videos for Facebook, Youtube and website of satisfied SU student. The reason on why I picked E is because if a prospective student is interested in Seattle Univeristy, they would want to research more about it and hear more about what people have to say. After all, Seattle University wont pay people to say something good about them, right? So by making videos for Facebook, youtube, etc is a reliable way for prospective students to see other student's or alumni's real experience. If posting ads in Facebooks and such, I don't think it is an effective method since prospective students is likely unknowledgeable about the university. First, universities have to attain their attention by giving out information in place that they would look for such as their high schools, not Facebook. When universities have gain their attention or interest, prospective students will likely look up information by their own and that is the time where videos of current/graduated students testimonials is going to be useful and educating.
2) I have never bought an online coupon but I had used discount codes, I am not sure if it is the same thing or not. Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and many other online shopping sometimes provide free shipping (ground shipping) for items above several hundred dollars. They would usually post the code on top of their website and we can enter the code during check out. This is beneficial for me as a customer because I don't have to pay extra 15-20 USD if I don't need the item in a hurry, since the free shipping usually takes up to 7-10 business days!
3) I think I would be really happy to receive ads of coupon codes for the restaurants that I like, if there is no catch to it. What is there not to like? 50% coupon off can help me to save money and have it spend on other things. I think most people would like it since they have nothing to loose. Even if they don't like it, they can just delete the ads or unsubscribe from it.
