E-marketing

1. How effective do you believe online display advertising is compared to other media and why?

The reason is that people are easily search products after they see the ads online. Website using hyperlinks allows consumers to click on it and review the website. The second reason is that people spend more time on the internet than media. Therefore, people see the ads everywhere on website. I have one of the best examples that which Facebook is doing it for ads. On Facebook Profile, we will post our personal information and interest. Actually, Facebook using this information and selecting ads which match our interest post on our Facebook pages. You can say that it might be not ethnical. However, It is very effective because we see the ads which we are interested it. I think these tools become popular. Another example is that HK Yahoo set up some programs which collect the user's cookies and Browsing history, and then they will sell to other companies by allowing them to use these information for ads.


2. Why do you believe "Will It Blend" has been so successful? The main reason is that the video is very creative. Who will put the some products such as expensive iPad and iPhone in the blender. Especially, they want to buy these products, but it's expensive. When people see it, they just feel some emotion about "God. What the hell". They will share with their friends because of unexpected video. It creates word of mouth. Later, they would like to see more for different products. At least, I want to see what look is like if they blend the Macbook. Also, the guy is quite funny. He looks like evil genius to try different experiment, but he didn't look scare because of his smiling. Last and most important is that the slogan is very easy to remember. "Will it Blend?" The sentence just only has three words and easily to understand the meaning. People can remember and then tell their friends by mentioning the slogan.


3. Name what you believe are the three most important rules for successful e-mail marketing and explain why.


-Make it easy for users to unsubscribe I think this is very important because consumers don't want to receive email anymore. Companies should have responsibility to allow consumers unsubscribe. Because when customers don't want to see the companies email, they won't open it and read it. Companies don't need to waste money and time to non-potential customers.

-Use microsegmentation, sending offers to smaller lists of relevant customers and personalize them This is very important because if the email is not personalize, people consider these email as a spam; they even won't look at it. I think small amount of email from companies which is acceptable, but not receive it every single day. Email should be a reminder which reminds customers about the companies instead of ads tool.

-No spam when people receive 30 ads' emails per day which is very announcing and its damage the company’s reputation. Also, email is the important tool to get some important information.
