We Create the News
With the growth of the social media, people share their life experiences, photos, videos and even their personal opinion online. Nearly 90% of people cannot live without social media. Today, social media even upgrade the word of mouth to world of mouth. Google Translate, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube and other social media really connect different regions, countries and race into one community. No matter where you at or what language you speak, social media become the most efficiency way to communicate with others and receive news or information. In my opinion, people obsess to know the latest activities, information and willing to create and share their life stories to others. The definition of “News” no longer only focus on regular celebrities and Politicians , people are more interested in personal story telling and fun experience.
Videos Run the History Now
One of the interested parts that Erik Qualman pointed out is that, “What Happened in Vegas Stays on YouTube!” In my opinion, this could be both positive and negative effect to people’s life. From the positive point of view that other people could get information via video sharing in order to make better decisions. Also, by putting the video online could also let other family members and friends share the joy with you; for example, graduation, birthday party, wedding and etc. YouTube become a live history writer that record people’s activities anywhere anytime. However, YouTube video could also damage your personal image in certain way. Individual speech and actions will be judge by others and might twist into bad topic.
Since social media has been impact all of us, it is extremely important to learn and understand how to express and share your personal opinions and information online in the proper way. In addition, because of the large percentage of the online user are growing from the generation Y, school should provide some kind of lecture and skills to teach younger generation how to use the social media in the right way!!!
