Digital media trends and tipping point

The one and only digital media that catch my attention is the online video market. Nowadays many people are watching movies, tv shows, music video, and many more online. The good examples are YouTube, Hulu, and Netflix to watch videos online. Many people are now post their videos on Youtube. It is not just a personal video you want to share, but commercials, music videos, movie trailers, and many more posted on Youtube. Even now recently there are many advertisements seen before the videos start on youtube. This means many companies are now investing their asset on online videos since many people are now watch videos online. Hulu is slightly different compare to youtube. Hulu is more like into to tv shows that were aired on TV and they posted it there. Hulu also have advertisement if you don't have the Hulu+ account. Netflix is now getting its way to beat Blockbuster. Whereas now many movies on Netflix can be easily watch in computer or TV - in fact i am watching Karate Kid on Netflix on my computer while i am blogging.

The idea i like from the book "The Tipping Point" is the stickiness factor. The stickiness factor refers to how unique the product or service is. How can it apply to a social media? well, social media can be anything right? so, my example would be a social media that can connect people wherever they are. The good example will be a video which Joe showed us in class. The video showed a physical human body equip with a small monitor that can connect you with your friend at the bar through a social media website.
