Mobile/ Smartphone:

I was impressed by the increased number of Smartphone users nowadays. I have never noticed that there is 27% of the cell phone market already as I thought the Smartphone market is new. As always, texting is always our number one mobile activities in the US. At the same time, over 30% of the users are accessing news, info and using browsers and applications. However, I feel that texting or calling as a tool for advertising may not be a very useful and effective way to reach customers since sometime it becomes annoying. Rather, I felt that advertisements through Smartphone applications, webpage or browsers are better because they are optional and they won’t disturb people that much. Thus, I am glad that businesses and companies start using the mobiles for promotions, advertising their business as it is a trend.

Tipping Point

The Book, Tipping Point talks about changes and explanations of how it happens. It says that our ideas or behaviors sometimes just outbreak like a diseases which the author call Social epidemic. He said that we believe in cause and effect and things changes slowly and steadily. Thus, if something happened without a reason, we will be surprised. The author is trying to explain these are just social epidemics.

This makes me think of facebook. It just outbreak and happened in a sudden. Everyone just started to use it and talk about it. There is no specific reason of why facebook became so famous and widely used in a short period of time.
