Privacy Concerns

The question posed to my group is: What concerns you most about privacy on the web and why?

Well, in a day where we share, share, share online, one cannot be a part of the social community online if they are frozen with fear over privacy concerns. We are in a digital age and it is my belief that we are growing accustomed to a certain level of risk regarding our privacy. Granted, people still get upset over Facebook privacy changes so it is an obvious concern for many people. However, it's not something that is totally in our control. We almost put our right to privacy in a strangers hand... online, nonetheless.

The two things that concern me most about online privacy are: a)money stuff and b)the collection of information. When I say collection of information I'm talking about these random sketchy sites that create profiles of you, your family, and where you've lived without your consent. In the end, technology will continue to progress and people will either be left in the dust paralyzed with fear or they will bite the bullet and go with the flow while embracing the positive side of using new technology. Let's just hope that we can get some laws and regulations enacted that can keep up with the ever changing digital landscape.
