1. What did you learn that is "new" from the survey?
It was surprising that the top deployed or planned investment on tip of businesses mind will be focused on mobile applications. While the least deployed tactics will be personalization features. According to the survey, the features rated 'very effective' by the most respondents beflong to the rick media category, with multimedia product viewing. All of these conclusion draw by this survey indicated the huge growth on the mobile marketing trends. I think this is because of the huge growth and widely use of smart-phone. People nowadays seek and value for time saving and convenience. When you work down the street and observe the people's behavior, it is quite obvious that teenagers and businessmen walking in the street are mostly playing with their smart phone. And I think this is a future trend to America and a really potential trend and market for the rest of the world. This is because in the other part of the world like Asia, people are still on the adapting stage for using smart-phone and using it for doing business transaction. It will be a huge and prospect market for business that want to expand internationally and invest in mobile applications.
2. What did you read that sparked an idea for your personal project client and how might that idea be used?
Before reading this survey, I did not ever think of doing a mobile application for promoting my organization since it is a non-profit organization. However, with this survey and understanding the on-going digital marketing trends. I think it will be very effective and useful not only focus on investing in web promotion but also should work on mobile promotion. Even if budget is not sufficient to hire people for writing those mobile application. I think it will be a really good idea to make use of this trend to spread the words out via mobile. For example, text message to all the on-board members and potential members for informing them about the up-coming events or any benefits they can get from those events. Attached them with the link that can bring them to our website and have them check it out. Moreover, we can also do some promotion like giving our digital coupons through text messaging like the book store coupons or any store which alliance with us. This can motivation them to participate in our events and have them participate more to our events.
