Second Class Impression:
In the beginning of the class, what caught my attention the most was the video created by coca-cola. They posted a simple 2 minutes video on youtube. It was smart because it’s cheap and well-spread. In this short video, coca-cola spread the idea of happiness to the audiences and also got my interests from the beginning through the end. I realized that companies only posting videos on youtube is not enough, however, posting interesting video that attract people is important. If the video is not interesting, no matter how short it is, people will not pay attentions and finish the whole video. Thus, there will be not point of posting video on youtube.
What I learned from WOM (CH6-9):
Andy mentioned that we should create topics for people talk about you. Also the topics need to be simple so that people can easier remember and help you spread your message. Andy also mentioned about “Do something Silly”. He said that making people smile and happy, people will talk about it. This is so true. There is a famous BBQ store in Taiwan. They offer a free dish of Beef tongue for any two people who kissed in the store. They took pictures for the two kissers. This store took a lot of people attentions and became for famous. Even I have never been to that store, I know the name of it and I will go visit it next time when I visit Taiwan. This store creates a simple and shocking topic for people to talk about.
Another idea that I found is interesting is “Let Your Talker Build the Product”. It is true that talkers who get to see an early version of a product loves to talk about it. I remember when I got a pre-view of a movie a few years ago, I was eager to talk about it and share with my friends. Also, when ipad 2 first released, I have a least 10 friends on facebook mentioned about it. Some of them got it and some still talks about it saying he / she want to get it or couldn’t line up of it.
