How To Recognize Good Talkers:
When it says it is important to know how to select good talkers, it does not mean we are only looking for good talkers. I am saying that we can create good talkers however. I am going to skip the first element, passion, since it is very basic. Secondly, making your customers expert to your products. I mean to create unique, easy-to-memorize, or understandable terms. Can you image the description of product you are considering is all complicated technical or professional terms? (Of course, if the product needs it, it has other saying.) But I am saying more like common products such as toys, bags, clothes, accessories, and electronic devices, it may be easier for the customers to understand and memorize your product if the product is simplified. It is like the concept of making your pages super viral, easy to use. Or do you remember “one sentence rule?” And for the third and fourth elements, I put it together since I think these two are connected. Even if we hope our customers to create a topic, we can create an environment for them to create the topic. How so? For example, a sport store holds a competition. Most of the people who come to the competition are in a favor of sport. Of course in the case their topics are around the sport, ideally. And this is also a good opportunity for the sport store since all the participants come because they are aware of the brand of the sport store. Otherwise they will not come.
Blogs:
The reason why blogs matter so much is because it is the representation of a real individual. Including all the texts, pictures, template designs, and information, those are written and chosen by a real person. And because it is more real, people who read the blogs feel more realistic and connected, and it is the reason why blog messages are so portable. Besides the advantage that blogs have multi-access for blog surfers, people will only spread the messages as they think the stories are good and real. Also, while those professional product bloggers who have sponsorship and privilege to test the newest products share experiences of using the products, they are criticizing and admiring the products and creating relative topics. And, because they are the only few people who can experience the new products, every customer listens to them and asks for information. Here is the conversation and interaction. This is a good and common platform for marketing. Gradually, bloggers successfully build up their credibility when a huge amount of blog readers agrees their share and gives positive attitudes.
Tracking:
It is very essential since we need to know what our talkers are talking about us. Through some online tracking tools, feedback, surveys, the numbers of forward, tell-a friend forms, email sharing, and etc. There are so many methods to track how our performance is. But the key point is to find a cheapest way to do so. Let me share an example that I heard from one of my marketing class.
Question: how do you know which painting were viewed the most in a gallery hall by using the cheapest method? Not security cameras, not surveys, not flyers, not labors. The cheapest way is to see how much the spot in front of the painting fades. It costs nothing since the floor of gallery hall need to be waxed regularly.
