4/6/11 Three Class of Marketing 491

The most important code of ethics that I believe WOMMA members abide by would have to be keeping genuine honesty in communication. When you are communicating with your clients or customers you do not want that channel of communication to be pampered with. In others words by be honest in compliance with comments posted by customers you are keeping a safe and true environment to make them want to give there true opinions and insight on how they feel about your product or service. If members do not tell the online representatives what to say that also gives no falsified statements about their own personal experience working within the particular industry as well as about the product or service itself. Studies have shown that consumers first want to here advice from their friends and family (people they know) and then from representatives. If you have obvious glamorized comments that seem fake in their very essence then consumers will not want to share their insight. Also being fake when communicating will have a transparent image on the company itself as being "fake." Lastly, by having a channel of communication directly with customers is one of the most powerful tools a marketer can have. It is direct research as to what consumers actually think about their product or service and shows what improvements can be made. When you host comments on your companies website it is viewed by many people; why not use this as an outlet to provide positive buzz about your company. By engaging in positive communication with customers it is a great way to gear a conversation in a positive manner and keep the fire burning! Best Regards, Tim McCauley
