I have decided to work with Ichiro Restaurant for my individual project. It is located in the University District near UW and sells Korean/Japanese food. I often go there for lunch or dinner because it is near my place. What made me decide to work on this restaurant was that it does not have a Facebook page. I have contacted the owner and asked for permission to help them with social media marketing. We have been discussing in what directions we would like this project to take place and benefit the restaurant. I will be either opening the page for them or assisting them making one.
I would want the profile picture on its Facebook to be a QR code, with which customers can scan it with their phones. Then, it will directly link to a never-seen-before video or discount codes. I personally think discount codes will be a better choice because their main customers, college students, are mostly price conscious.
SMS option would be good as well. If customers can get a customized QR code to their phones if they text a certain number.
As they visit the restaurant, the individual QR codes can be the “virtual stamp card” which people can get a free meal or drink if they have accumulated enough stamps.
Before we do it, we must test and test to make sure the smooth launch. It will be new to the college students because Ichiro would be the first to try QR codes amongst restaurants in U-District.
I found this example from the Internet:
