Jones Soda Co.
Jones Soda is a company that already has the reputation of being hip and cool. People love the company almost more than they love the product. QR Codes are perfect for an organization like this. They can be used to provide customers with a discount for soda, insight on a new product Jones is rolling out, or simply a fun fact about the company that cannot be found anywhere else.
QR Codes would be perfect for Jones' latest product - their new and improved Whoopass energy drink. The target market of Whoopass is anyone and everyone hardcore (e.g. Harley riders, UFC fighters and fans, and adrenaline junkies). Jones can utilize QR Codes by linking them to a video or picture that represents the hardcore lifestyle. They could have one QR Code for many people, or have many QR Codes available at one time. In other words, their could be a daily QR Code that linked the consumer to a video of the day, or their could be a different QR Code on each can of Whoopass that brought consumers to a different video or picture.
Another idea for Jones is to run a rewards program using their soda bottles and QR Codes. They could start by placing a QR Code on every bottle they produce. When customers scanned their code, it would link to a page that said if they were a winner or loser. Winners would receive some kind of free product such as a t-shirt, myjones pack, or case of soda. Of course, Jones would have to make sure that each QR Code is only redeemed once (there are always those that would take advantage and try to redeem a code multiple times).
A third possibility is for Jones to print QR Codes on their products that linked the consumer to a special word or phrase. They could partner this with Facebook and/or Twitter by having the first so many people that commented and/or tweeted the correct word or phrase win a prize. This would not only create buzz but also create traffic on their social media sites. I can just imagine the mad rush that would take place to be the first 5 or 10 to Facebook and/or Tweet the winning phrase.
