Make-A-Wish & Fancy

I am currently a social media marketing intern for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of AK & WA. With that said, the statements I may make in the following post are of my own personal opinion and are not representative of the Make-A-Wish Foundation and its mission.

1. Client: Make-A-Wish Foundation of AK & WA - grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions

2. Partner: Fancy - Seattle based jewelry company that produces unique & modern jewelry pieces, all of which are handmade of ethically sourced materials

3. Campaign Idea: Fancy designs a jewelry collection for M-A-W. This collection would consist of necklaces and rings inspired by M-A-W's mission to bring hope, strength, and, joy to sick children. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the M-A-W collection jewelry would go towards funding the wishes of local children.

4. Social media aspect: First of all there would obviously be advertising of this campaign on Facebook & Twitter. However, there would also be a location-based services component. Customers who "check-in" at Fancy using Foursquare would receive a coupon for a 10% discount on any Fancy purchase, (including the M-A-W collection.) This coupon would act as an incentive to both drive customers to the Fancy store, as well as to encourage them to purchase a jewelry piece from the M-A-W collection.

If successful, this campaign would bring more business to Fancy, while spreading awareness of M-A-W at the same time. Volunteers, donors, wish recipients/their families, and other individuals affiliated with M-A-W tend to be very passionate about their relationship with the foundation. I think it is very probable that there is a good-sized local market that would be interested in purchasing a jewelry piece that honors the mission of the foundation, celebrates the hope and strength of a child fighting a life-threatening medical condition, or commemorates the loss of a child who lost his/her battle with illness. (Especially if purchase of said jewelry piece helps raise funds for M-A-W.)
