I remember reading an article in the beginning of this year that the marketers are recruiting employees who are social-media savvy more than other digital experts. This would certainly help me during job searching process as I will have to find a job after graduating. Moreover, I would like to implement things I learn from this class into real world business and practices both directly and indirectly. Even though I am just an average social-media savvy person, I have realized the importance and tremendous impact of social media in my personal life as well. If I am to purchase any cosmetics, electronics, bags, or clothes, I almost always check out other consumers’ reviews and decide if it is worth to buy something. I very frequently check out YouTube videos to see if there are any new products of anything and just see what other people think about it. I am also a fan of Red Mango, Costco, Trophy Cupcakes, Gelatiamo pages, etc on Facebook; this way I get to know if they are coming up with new flavors or products, if there are any promotional events, or just random news feeds.
In 2008 and 2009, I blogged to recruit perspective college students in South Korea and answer any questions about the programs or degrees at North Seattle Community College while working as an international student ambassador at NSCC. Since I have blogged before, I will be able to learn new things and see if I made any mistakes in this class.
It was very interesting to know why classmates were taking this class and what they would like take from this class. I gained a new view about Word of Mouth Marketing by watching “The Changing face of marketing”; there was a lot of new and fascinating information about WOM. And I also found 6pm-8pm class would be so much fun and exciting as well as interactive.
