QR Codes

Hello Everyone!

I would first like to start by saying that it is so ironic for me that we learned about QR codes this week, because until about 3 weeks ago I had no idea what they were! About a month ago I started an administrative job at Windermere Real Estate, and I learned all about the uses of QR codes. At Windermere, we use the codes on all the flyers for our listings, so that brokers or people previewing the home can scan the code, which will take them to the home's website. Here they can find out all sorts of other information about the house that may not have been on the flyer or apparent when viewing the home.

As far as using QR codes for social media, I think there are many ways in which they can be implemented. For our team project, we can use the QR codes to embed an image of a wine bottle into the QR code. Consumers can search for it, and if they can't find it they can scan the QR code which will take them to the Purple website. There they can find the answer as to where the wine bottle is located, and also surf the site for other information.

One way in which my individual project can use QR codes is to put them on the back of his products. That way when someone purchases a product, they can scan the QR code to see what other products Pike Street Press has to offer. Or, he could embed the QR codes into his products design, or make a design out of QR codes and print it on a product. QR codes are basically a modern spin on bar codes, and are accessable to almost every consumer who has a smart phone. Both of the companies I am working on this quarter can benefit from this invention.

Until next time!

Rachel
