My personal project client is a homemade ice cream company in my hometown. It's actually a business that owned by my aunt.
The following three approches are how I would recommend my client to act:
1. Associate itself with non-profit organization like the Association of the Physically Handicapped of Thailand:
In Thailand, handicapped people don't have opportunities like those in the U.S. More than half unfortunately have been left out of the society. It's a good idea for the company to indirectly give its hands to these people so that the gap in the society would be minimized. What I meant by "indirectly" is that doing it through a campaign involving its customers and communities so that the company can be promoted at the same time.
2. Create a campaign that engages customers and communities to involve:
Good campaign can be built up on compelling content, living campaign, or creatively acting. Here are the details for the campaign that I suggest the company to adopt. Create brunches of new and unique flavor of ice cream. Let customers vote for which flavors of ice cream they would like the company to make. The flavors that got highest votes will be available for sell at the shop. All the revenues from selling this special edition of flavor will be given to the Association of the Physically Handicapped of Thailand.
3. Use social media to enable such campaign in order to build meaningful relationships with customers and communities:
In this case, I recommend using Facebook Fan Page, which it has already been created, as a mean since all the information can spread quickly through the site. The company can just post an electronic poll and announce the cause of using this poll. I believe the customers will not hesitate to participate on the campaign.
